The action starts with the Tyre Flip in which the athletes have to flip a half-tonne tyre six times, followed by a 320kg Squat Lift, then a Viking Press. After which the athletes have to gear up for a colossal 25-tonne plane pull! The Deadlift will be hotly contested, before mighty Atlas Stones decide the champion.

Lithuanian Zydrunas Savickas returns to World's Strongest Man after a year away battling injury. He's back leaner than ever, but his ambition remains very much heavyweight. Also battling for one of the two spots available in the final is Britain's Terry Hollands.

Eddie Hall, who has won Britain's Strongest Man four times, finished 3rd in this competition last year and he begins his assault on this year's title in this heat. But he will have strong competition, particularly from up-and-coming Mateusz Kieliszkowski from Poland who is just 23 years old, and one of the fastest athletes in the history of this event.

Heat Three features an epic field of athletes who will take on six herculean tasks including a 15 tonne Bus Pull, a 350kg Deadlift, and a 200kg Elephant Carry.

Heat Two includes a man who has been on the podium five times, yet remains uncrowned. Hailing from the nation that has won 8 of the previous 39 World's Strongest Man titles, Iceland's Hafthor Julius Bjornsson has the weight of history and expectation on his shoulders.
