Nick finally scores with Judy, but she wants him to do animal impressions. He also agrees to perform cosmetic surgery on Mrs Wright's dog's ears. Andrew declares his love for Kirsten.

Kirsten attempts to liven up the surgery by playing 1980s hits. Nick falls for an attractive woman and ends up looking after her pedigree Pekinese.

Kirsten panics about having no real friends and asks Briony to go out for the evening. Nick spies an opportunity to earn money from gullible pet owners.

Nick feels forced to replace Briony after she insults him. John seems the perfect candidate - professional, good-looking and charming - and Kirsten is delighted, but Nick has other ideas.

Nick wants to appear chivalrous when his next-door neighbour Mary, whom he fancies, pops round. Kirsten's powers of diplomacy are stretched.

Vet Nick decides to look for another career and takes up pottery in an attempt to seduce Mary.
