Three seemingly unrelated storylines run through the series as the special task force continues to investigate the real forces behind the death notices.

The special task force is adrift after their epic loss to Darker, the mastermind behind series of high profile vigilante killings. With their captain on the run for murder and them no closer to catching Darker, the team switches gear and investigates a decades-old hostage case. In those dusty old files, they discover Darker's real identity and a possible police coverup, but establishing the wrongdoer and the aggrieved party proven more difficult than it seemed. The team must determine the true culprit before Darker does, lest he kills his way through the suspect list.

Due to the provocations by Darker, the police force gathers a team that comprises of the best of the best. Luo Fei has high IQ but a low moral character. Mu Jian Yun is prideful and sharp-tongued. Han Xian is the poker-faced team lead. Yin Jian is the shame of the police force. Rounding up the team are the gothic Liang Yin, the gamer Zeng Ri Hua and the hot-tempered Xiong Yuan.

Being an unlikely group of weirdos, the team does not play well with each other, yet puts in their best effort in order to capture the culprit. As they pit wits and will against Darker, a shocking secret is unravelled.
