Falsely accused of two murders, fugitive Matt Houston (Lee Horsley) turns to his uncle (Buddy Ebsen), a retired criminologist, to help pin down the real killer (Andrew Prine).

C.J falls in love with Robert Tyler, an old school chum who is now a television anchorman, and Houston thinks that Tyler is in cahoots with a gang of kidnappers.
