Sonia Blessing is found killed in her own salon. DI Arnold interviews an old boyfriend and scorned clients, but the truth behind Sonia's murder appears much darker, revolving around a hidden identity and a desperate attempt to escape coercion.
When notorious gangster Trent Wilsher is found shot dead and the prime suspect, Rory, Earl of Davenstock, disappears, DI Arnold must launch a manhunt to find him before Trent's brother takes revenge on the remaining Davenstocks.
Butler Lucas is found dead in the Thames. The investigation gets complicated when the team learns that Lucas wasn't Lucas at all - he was Billy Paige, an undercover journalist investigating the household of self-made fashion mogul, Clare Curtis.

The third season of The Chelsea Detective sees DI Max Arnold and DS Layla Walsh delving once more into the murky crimes of glamorous Chelsea. The team will investigate the tragic death of a 2000s popstar, the discovery of an ex-soldier's body in an allotment, the brutal murder of an antiques dealer, and the mysterious case of a climate scientist found dead in a stolen car. If that wasn't enough to contend with, things at home aren't much simpler for the investigating duo either. Max tries a new approach in his personal life as he embarks on couples therapy with his estranged wife, Astrid. Meanwhile, Layla is still getting used to living in London, while her partner, Jon, is in Exeter. They might be enjoying their independent lives right now but will discover that navigating a long-distance relationship can be trickier than they first thought.
Season Two brings new cases for Detective Inspector Max Arnold and the team to investigate. Max is joined by sharp and quick-witted Detective Sergeant Layla Walsh from Exeter police. Layla quickly gets used to Max's unique style and will occasionally roll her eyes at the worst excesses of Chelsea.
London's Chelsea neighbourhood is a beautiful borough for beautiful people, but it has a dark underside of deception, violence, greed-and murder. Bodies have a way of showing up, and things are rarely what they seem.
