"The Troubles" have a diverse history. Here is one story from times past.
Every hero and every villain has an origin story, even "The Troubles". This is one of those tales.
The origins of the troubles will leave you fearful for what has yet to come.
Haven finds the town's protectors caught up in the shocking aftermath of the season four finale. With Duke fighting to contain the Troubles within him, Nathan faces his greatest fear that Audrey – the woman he's fought so desperately to save – may be gone forever. The stakes are raised as Audrey's "original" persona Mara proceeds to unleash a wave of chaos on Haven.
Season 4 of Haven picks up six months after the devastating events of the Season 3 cliffhanger in which the town was pummeled by a violent meteor storm. Audrey and Duke vanished into thin air leaving an injured Nathan marooned in Haven.
Season three of Haven picks up immediately following the events of the gripping season two finale with Audrey having been brutally kidnapped; Nathan warned against pursuing a romantic relationship with Audrey; and Duke seemingly engaged in a fight to the death with Nathan after he discovers his family lineage is to kill Haven citizens with troubles.
Following the death of the chief, the Biblical Plagues of Egypt fall upon the town. Meanwhile, Audrey and Nathan deal with a brunette woman claiming to be Audrey Parker who has appeared at the same time that Evidence Ryan, Duke's ex-wife, returns to Haven. After the Plagues are averted, Nathan discovers that the town's religious fanatic is starting a war.
FBI agent Audrey Parker is sent to Haven to track down escaped prisoner Jonas Lester. In town she meets Nathan Wuornos, a cop who couldn't feel pain, and Duke Crocker, a local smuggler. While researching the case, Audrey finds that strange things happen in this small town. Then it soon comes to Audrey's attention that there was a woman long ago, who looked like her, in Haven. Not only that, but the troubles have returned. Determined to find out the truth of her past, Audrey stays in Haven and joins the local police. Now a police officer, Audrey helps the "troubled" people of Haven. From a person who can make people insane by playing music to a person who can suck life out of people. She finally gets a name for the woman in the picture; Lucy Ripley.
