Bloom, Tecna, Timmy and Brandon make another attempt to enter the Crypt of the Magic Archive in CloudTower to learn more about Bloom's origins. After many dangers, they finally enter the crypt, but to everyone's shock, they discover that Bloom is a renegade witch, not a fairy! Full of shame, Bloom runs away, unaware that it is actually a trap set by Icy. Taking advantage of Bloom's low spirits, Icy, Darcy and Stormy try to lure her back to them.
Icy is eager to know more about Bloom. During Bloom's mid-term exam at Alfea, Darcy fixes the Simulation Chamber at the highest level of difficulty to better analyse Bloom's power. Bloom faces very difficult and dangerous challenges in Sparks, the virtual land set by the Simulation Chamber, but manages to win all fights and scores well on the exam! There is no doubt at this point that Bloom is a very, very special fairy.
Stella is kidnapped by the Senior Witches and Mr. Knut while on a mystery date with Prince Sky.
The eighth season of the series was not produced immediately after the seventh. It followed a multiple-year hiatus and was not made as a direct continuation of the previous season. At Iginio Straffi's decision, Season 8 was heavily retooled to appeal to a preschool target audience.
Most of the show's longtime crew members were not called back to work on this season, including art director Simone Borselli, who had designed the series' characters from season 1 to 7, and singer Elisa Rosselli, who had performed a majority of the songs.
