The Cattlemans' Association wants Paladin to stop a ruthless older bounty hunter from killing a man they hired him to dispose of two years ago.

Paladin goes to help Costigan, the brother of a man who died for him at Antioch, but discovers that Costigan intends to wipe out a squatter and his wife no matter what the cost.
