It's night-time in the West Midlands, and paramedics Jan Panesar and Amy Cullen are called to a man suffering a severe diabetic attack. He's drifting in and out of consciousness and is combative. In Coventry, crewmates Mark Rattray and Orlaigh Barbour attend a 73-year-old woman who is in agony after falling on the ice. Jan Vann and Chelsie Kennedy are sent to a baby who has been fitting. On the other side of the city, Neil Vann and Laura Perkins have to deal with a well-known drunk nuisance caller.

At the same time in Coventry, an elderly woman with heart and lung failure is struggling to breathe but refuses to go to hospital for treatment. And, in Warwick, a crew is called to an elderly man with extreme anxiety who has called 999 14 times.
