Alla decides to break off relations with her married lover, prosecutor Akimov. She wasted several years of her life on him and no longer trusts him. He begs for a meeting, talks on the phone about some danger that threatens her, promises to confess to something. Alla doesn't want to listen to anything and goes home. In front of the door of her apartment she finds the dying Akimov. So she becomes a suspect. To prove that it was not she who killed her lover, Alla gets involved in the investigation.
