A gunman opened fire in Atlanta on Friday afternoon near the campuses of both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Emory University, killing a police officer who was responding to calls of an active shooter, officials said. NBC News' Priya Sridhar reports from Atlanta. Israel is facing growing backlash from Arab states and European allies after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a plan for Israel's military to take over Gaza. It comes as Palestinians in the enclave face a series of deadly incidents involving airdrops for food aid. NBC News' Molly Hunter has the latest. In some states, autonomous farming equipment is put to work on farms, doing things like spreading fertilizer or getting rid of insects. But in California, these robots aren't allowed to operate on their own. State safety regulators say operators have to be at the controls, with few exceptions.
