Ali has learned Frida's secret and hides with her in a lonely mountain hut in the Alps, while Leo tries to uncover the conspirators who seem to be sitting in his own ranks. Undeterred by threats against their investigation, Maryam and her boss go public with their plan to file a class-action lawsuit over the bridge disaster, which puts them in the sights of a hitherto unknown enemy.
Ali and Leo narrowly escape death and realise that they are involved in a far-reaching conspiracy whose bloody trail leads them back to Munich. There they meet Ali's colleague Frida, who has just been released from the hospital and is also - albeit for different motives - trying to find out what and, above all, who is behind the conspiracy. Maryam receives an anonymous threat.
Ali and Leo narrowly miss the weapons container in the port of Athens, but they manage to find out that the container belongs to a company that operates from Munich. Maryam encounters inconsistencies in the planning and construction of the collapsed bridge while preparing for the trial in Munich.
Ali is suspended from duty, while his friend Maryam is tasked with preparing a compensation claim for the victims of the bridge collapse.
Experienced police investigators Ali and Frida's attempt to transport an arrested Bundeswehr soldier from Austria to Germany hits some major bumps in the road.
During her research into the fatal bridge collapse, lawyer Maryam Soltani (Mona Pirzad) was attacked and threatened in her office. She got too close to the truth. But who is responsible for the disaster and the attack? The deeper police officer Ali Zeller (Ken Duken), his brother Leo (Fabian Busch) and Maryam delve into the search for the perpetrators, the tighter the noose around them tightens.
After Ali and Leo cross boundaries in their investigation, they have to do everything they can to cover their tracks. But they get in the way of Edda Münch (Nadeshda Brennicke), who shows no mercy in the search for her missing son and also brings drug lord Rainer Lanski (Daniel Zillmann) into the Zeller brothers' sights. When a mysterious killer (Stephan Luca) shows up in Munich and sabotages the investigation into the bridge collapse in court, the situation for Ali, Leo and Maryam seems increasingly hopeless.
