Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune
Akira Ihotsu is a young man who spends his days rebelling against an oppressive society on a future Earth, which is ruled and controlled by Shoren, the Pan-Star System Trade Federation. One day, he is scouted by Pupkin, a "cook" for Shoren, and volunteers to join the planetary orbital infantry force "Yakitori" — a brutal unit whose missions average a shocking death rate of 70%. Along with misfits from several other nations, Akira makes a stand against his pre-determined fate.
After risking their lives for Shoren, the K321 unit are scapegoated and arrested. During their trial, Vasa Pupkin testifies as a witness.
After their brutal counter-attack against the enemy, the K321 unit are left to put together their own escape plan. Akira has a risky idea.
Back in the Kitchen, the K321 learn that their teamwork is lacking, and they find out that they're being trained differently from everyone else.
The K321 unit heads into enemy territory to carry out their "harassment" mission while 10 months ago, back in the Kitchen, their training begins.

After getting in some trouble, Akira gets approached by an enigmatic recruiter who tells him about the expendable foot soldiers known as Yakitori.
