Not a typical episode, "The Monkees on Tour" is more of a mini-documentary chronicling the real life Monkees' concert stop in Phoenix, Arizona.

When they get work as extras in a beach movie, the Monkees try to get rid of an arrogant teen idol (played by Bobby Sherman) and replace him with Davy.

The Monkees travel to Manhattan to star in an aspiring playwright's new show, but when his backer backs down, the Monkees must search for a new angel.
