The body count starts rising around the siblings as Susan is found dead at the family home.
Sian tries to reach Nathan, who's completely disappeared (following some worrying comments by Glen). Daniel makes a hard decision to resolve his financial troubles and get rid of Glen once and for all by accepting his brother-in-law Pete's loan… in return for his business, a decision Chloe isn't best pleased with.
Chloe sees DS Morris, who has found a similar past case, involving a man called James… Daniel, meanwhile, tries to find Nathan for Sian. But when he finds where he's living, the place is full of Watson family videos; Nathan's the one who's been watching them all this time.
In a dramatic endgame at the family home, the truth is revealed. Nathan is in fact James - Susan and Michael's son - who used his knowledge of the affair to poison and manipulate Dennis. Rejected as a child and put into care at Susan's behest, Nathan intended to get what we felt he was owed whilst inflicting revenge on Susan, by killing Dennis, inheriting his estate, and destroying the lives of his spoilt children. But things didn't go to plan when Dennis left everything to Susan instead, and Susan planned to move the inheritance back to the siblings. So, Susan ended up having to die too.
As the drama resolves, Nathan ties up the siblings and sets the family house on fire, leaving them to die…. But Glen arrives, saving Sian and the others.
As the house burns and Nathan's arrested, the siblings watch in despair – their past in flames, their secrets and lies revealed. But as they watch the house burn to the ground, out of the ashes of the past may come a new relationship between them, this time based on truth.
The Watsons' lives become more complex after a burglar targets the family home. Daniel gets increasingly desperate to pay back his loan as Glen becomes more threatening and demanding. Sian is now dating estate agent Nathan, resulting in a nasty run-in between the estate and a jealous Glen.
As Dennis's death becomes the subject of an official police investigation, with Detective Sergeant Morris leading the charge, the siblings hunt for their father's previous will, trying desperately to prove his original intentions.
Daniel finds himself in hot water with Sian's aggressive ex-husband Glen who, unbeknown to Sian, has given Daniel a loan to help with his struggling restaurant and is now demanding that Daniel help him to see his and Sian's son, despite a restraining order. Sian, in the meantime, is developing a crush on the estate agent who valued their father's house.
Susan is meddling in the siblings' lives – threatening to reveal Chloe's secret… (that she knew about the affair all along and didn't tell Sian or Daniel). The siblings discover that Dennis's oldest and best friend Michael was Susan's ex-husband, and it seems that Dennis was secretly sending Michael money – but why?
Daniel also finds bioethanol hidden in Michael's garage. So, believing that Michael is involved in his father's death along with Susan – and desperately trying to remedy his own financial mess - he goes to demand that Michael gives him back the money.
Siblings Sian, Daniel and Chloe are stunned when their father Dennis dies unexpectedly and it is revealed he has left everything in his will, including the family home, to a woman they've never heard of. As they begin to question everything they thought they knew about their father, they become increasingly suspicious that this woman had something to do with his death.
