In episode two of this ground-breaking series, we continue to follow the wonderful world of our Bluebell badgers, watching the cubs head out on an adventure for the very first time, while back at their sett tensions are rising. Deep in our specially rigged sett the life of Peggy and her cubs continues to captivate - the youngsters are growing up fast and are becoming a handful.
Injured cub Edith meets her own kind as she takes a step towards independence, and we discover how badgers are one of the most persecuted animals, as Steve helps with a vaccination project, in a bid to combat the hugely controversial badger cull.
In the Gloucestershire countryside, Steve has a wonderful wild badger encounter, while deep in a specially rigged sett. Could a female badger called Peggy be about to give birth? If she does it will be what's believed to be a world first – the only time a wild European badger will have given birth on camera!
We meet the captivating Bluebell Badgers and follow their lives above ground, seeing the nine-week-old cubs emerge from the sett for the very time, and we witness the harsher side of a badgers world, as young cub Edith recovers from terrible injuries at a rescue centre.
