The Sandell family is a normal family consisting of the priest Adam, the lawyer Ulrika and their 19-year-old daughter Stella. They live a seemingly perfect life in a polished residential suburb outside of Lund. One day, everything changes when Stella ends up in custody, accused of murder. Her devastated parents don't know what to do. What has happened? They want to help Stella at any cost, but do they really know their daughter? Or each other?
During the trial, an unexpected witness takes the stand and dramatically upends the Sandell family's world.
After talking to Amina, Ulrika vows to do whatever it takes to protect her family. Adam unleashes his anger while Stella faces her feelings of guilt.
Ulrika finds an excuse to set a dinner with friends and validate her suspicions, but she takes a step too far. Stella opens up to her psychologist.
Stella reflects on a troubling visit and the ensuing discovery at Chris' apartment. Ulrika pulls some strings to start her own investigation.
During interrogations, the family conceals the truth of what happened that night. Adam uses his position as a pastor to push the case forward.
Four years after a traumatic event shook their family, the Sandells seem to be back to normal — until their lives take an unexpected turn.
