This episode meets three people who are determined to manage their inherited phobias, or are dealing with phobias that they worry about passing on to their children. Ex-prison officer Paula is one tough cookie, but when it comes to spiders, she crumbles. Paula inherited her phobia from her mum and recalls being trapped in her bedroom for fear of a spider. Chloe has emetophobia - the phobia of people being sick - and talks about her sadness at not being able to care for her three young daughters. Chloe's eldest daughter is already starting to show signs of the same phobia, after seeing Chloe's reaction. Milly's had a phobia of frogs for as long as she remembers. She wants to be treated for her phobia before her two young children inherit it too. Can the clinic help Paula, Chloe and Milly?
Jack has inherited an intense phobia of spiders from his mum. In order for treatment to be successful, clinician Emma needs to encourage Jack to confront a live spider. Dublin-born James has suffered from an intense fear of clowns since he was a young child, but after a life-changing few years which have shown James his true strength, this phobia feels like the only remaining thing in his life that he needs to combat. Mother-of-one Lynsey has had a phobia of fish ever since she choked on a fish bone as a child and worries about passing her phobia down to her son. Can the clinic help?
Patients with extreme phobias check in for treatment at a unique clinic in Amsterdam. Zara has an intense fear of birds and is scared about passing her phobia down to her young son. Clinician Vivian takes Zara to a pigeon coop to help reach her maximum fear level. Gary's a gardener with a phobia of frogs and fears finding them lurking in the green. Lisa has emetophobia - a fear of people being sick. She revisits her tough past, bidding to free herself from her debilitating dread of vomit.
In this episode the phobias are sheep, moths and sausage dogs, again. On the surface, harmless animals. But for the patients checking into The Fear Clinic, they inspire pure terror. Eighteen-year-old Miriam has had a phobia of sheep ever since one charged at her while she was out on a walk with friends. Working in a factory 30 years ago led Dave to suffer blind panic whenever he sees a moth. After Devereaux's first treatment for his fear of sausage dogs didn't work, he undergoes a second round of therapy. Clinician Vivian must figure out why the initial treatment failed, and try to see what to do differently.
Tracey has an extreme phobia of open water. She recently moved to the south coast and wants to overcome her phobia so that she can enjoy time with her teenage boys. London-born Jenny suffers from a phobia of rats and has had nightmares about them ever since she was a young child and saw one in her home. Jamaican-born Devereaux discovered he had a phobia of sausage dogs when he moved to the UK and feels like his fear is holding him back. For the treatment to be successful, each patient needs to confront their fear in a uniquely designed confrontation, tailored to their specific phobia. But some treatments aren't as straightforward as others...
Ollie has had a phobia of balloons since being surrounded by them at a party as a child and warehouse manager Nick has a severe phobia of mice despite encountering them on most days at work. Nina is hoping Dr Merel Kindt can cure her amaxophobia, the fear of being a passenger in a car, but the treatment proves to be too overwhelming for some patients.
