Paul is released after seven years and tries to build a happy life with his girlfriend Myranda. He has finally come to terms with his fate, but notices that the outside world thinks differently. This leads him to an act of desperation. Will he ever find peace?

Paul is further examined in the Pieter Baan Center and therefore also has to see his father Gerard. This makes it clear that the murders Gerard once committed determined Paul's fate. Can Paul escape that fate?

Paul hopes that his voluntary report will lead to a short sentence. But as he tells more and more about his life, it becomes clear that Paul had trouble following the right path and therefore always got into trouble. But was that really his fault?
