Lisa Gifford, daughter Gypsy Gifford and Gypsy's partner Richelle South bought a farm in Drumcong, they run Leitrim Hill Creamery. Principal Caitríona Nic Chonchradha moved to Carrick-on-Shannon from Dublin with a young family in 2004. Family was at the heart of Monique Carroll's decision to move to Leitrim from South Africa.

More families who have moved - or are in the process of moving - to the west of Ireland. Dr Lisa Guthrie has spent much of her life working away from her native Ballina. Former doctor with the Mayo senior football team, she is a consultant in emergency medicine in Mayo University Hospital and a physician with the Lincolnshire and Nottingham Air Ambulance.
