Martin heads to Madeira, where he takes a lesson in rallying on steep mountain roads that are perfect for the sport, and hears about the fate of Prince Renato II on an old sea fort that was once a tiny island in the main port of Funchal. He then visits the archipelago of the Azores, tasting the unique local dish of cozido das furnas on Sao Miguel, and learning about the history of whaling on Faial before heading out with one of the island's best skippers in search of sperm whales.

The actor embarks on an epic journey to explore the ocean's islands, beginning with tropical jungles and grassland savannah off the western coast of Africa. He encounters giant snails and helps rescue endangered sea turtles in equatorial Sao Tome and Principe, which is also known as the African Galapagos. He then treks through savannah on the remote Bijagos Islands off Guinea Bissau to meet ferocious predators and a tribe in which the women hold the power.
