Tsunami survivors Liisa and Gerts returned home from Thailand 20 years ago without their families. Now they tell how life continued after the losses, how they finally found each other and what is happening to them now. Diver Jani Mäkinen meets his Thai friends in Khao Lak, who will never forget him.
Ismo Kopra, a criminal inspector from the Finnish National Criminal Police, returns to Thailand for the first time, where he spent over a year leading the identification operation of Finnish tsunami victims. He meets Liisa and Gerts, who get answers to questions that have been bothering them for 20 years. Gerts finds the hospital where he once experienced a shocking disappointment.
Jani Mäkinen returns to Phuket's Raya Island, where he fought for his life and, together with other divers, organizes rescue and relief operations and information dissemination to Finland. Liisa is surprised to find her holiday paradise of 20 years ago in Khao Lak. Liisa and Gerts visit the hospital where they received emergency treatment after the tsunami struck.
Liisa Suonsivu and Gerts Friman, who lost their spouses and all their children in the tsunami, return to Khao Lak, Thailand, for the first time since the disaster, where Gerts manages to find the place where he saw his family for the last time before the wave hit.
