Huntsman Maxim Okhlopkov is forced to leave his native Pskov forests due to a conflict with the local mayor. His new home is cold St. Petersburg, big, uncomfortable and unusual. The ability to see the trail and feel the animal logic helps Okhlopkov at his new duty station – he gets a job as an operative in the Yekaterininsky district of St. Petersburg. His partner is a Welsh Corgi dog named Tubik. Will the provincial and the truth-teller Okhlopkov be able to get along in a big city? His integrity often creates difficult "situations."
