The Pardonov family is constantly plagued by bad luck. Each of them uses up their average annual human limit of bad luck in a week. When the Pardonovs are suddenly abducted by a flying saucer, they learn they've inherited the entire planet Gapos and think they've finally hit the jackpot. However, it soon becomes clear that the inheritance is the culmination of their bad luck. A robot rebellion breaks out on the planet, and now the family is forced to flee from assassins sent from across the galaxy.
