Season six resumes with almost all of Wentworth's inmates and officers stunned by the apparent joint escape of Franky Doyle and Joan Ferguson.
As Sonia Steven's life and Vera Bennett's career hang in the balance, Kaz Proctor steels herself for Top Dog duties again and the truth surrounding the Freak's demise weighs heavily on Will Jackson and Jake Stewart. Boomer pieces together the events of Sonia's now apparent poisoning and Liz is targeted, while Allie finds solice for a short moment in avenging Bea's death – however, peace is only fleeting behind the walls of Wentworth.
A shocked Vera finally discovers the identity of her stalker, who has one last ultimatum. Liz has a daunting favour to ask of Kaz.
Allie learns that Marie is getting surveillance photographs smuggled in that show the attack on her son, and Ruby panics.
Marie discovers that Liz may have witnessed the attack on Cherry Li. Realising that Liz is ill and vulnerable, she takes advantage of her condition and convinces her that Boomer was responsible.
Rita is caught in a trap set by Marie and Drago, and must compromise Ray in order to maintain her cover, while Ruby questions Allie's loyalty when she believes her to be spying for Marie.
Kaz is released from the slot and the women soon realise she has profoundly changed. Becoming Liz's protector, Kaz also demonstrates a harder, tougher top doggedness.
When Sonia is refused a move into Protection, she sets up a plan to discredit Kaz and invalidate her position as top dog. With Marie onside, the plan is underway - but may have terrible repercussions for Allie.

Vera finds herself under added pressure at work when the press criticise her reopening of the workshop. When Jake saves Liz's life in a selfless act, Vera is forced to reassess her opinion of him.
Marie Winter arrives in Wentworth. Sonia will go to any length to reopen her Green Wall workshop. Meanwhile, Will is haunted by what he has done to Ferguson and Jake scrambles to stop him from flipping out.
After being shot Franky seeks Bridget's help, but the police net is tightening. Meanwhile, Kaz faces her toughest challenge when she warns Hutch to stop fight club.

Wentworth returns for a fifth season, resuming the story in the days following Bea Smith's tragic death at the hands of Joan Ferguson. Emotional, psychological and professional shockwaves pound the inmates and staff of Wentworth Correctional Centre. Vera is under fire from Corrective Services and, with Will on suspension, she is relying more on her deputy Jake, not realising he is now Ferguson's puppet. New Top Dog Kaz has a challenge to restore order amongst the traumatised inmates, though Sonia remains aloof focusing on her upcoming trial.
As the story resumes, Bea and her cell-block mates are returning to Wentworth after the fire and rebuilding of H Block to find a new dynamic in play with a new contender for Top Dog. On the outside, Franky is trying hard to be a productive member of society. As always, no-one should underestimate "the Freak".
Having been returned to Wentworth following her successful campaign to kill Brayden Holt, Bea Smith has assumed the mantle of Top Dog, hailed by all as a worthy successor. But having created a Top Dog she thought she could control, Ferguson now realises Bea has played her at her own game.
Season 2 picks up three months after the events of that dramatic ballpoint pen ending. Bea has languished in the slot while Franky has risen to top dog. And we've now got a new Governor, Joan Ferguson who is going to hammer down on the inmates.
Wentworth is a dynamic, often confronting, drama series beginning with Bea's early days in prison. Set in the present day, it is a modern adaptation of Prisoner contemporising legendary characters and their stories for today's audience.
