In 1985, Henki Hauge Karlsen is fired from his bartending job when he chooses to tell his employer that he has tested positive for HIV. He refuses to accept this, goes to court and quickly becomes the face of the "homsepesten" (Norwegian slang/slur from the 80s referring to gay men living with HIV AIDS).
