After a successful kidney transplant, Matías finds out that his parents are divorced and Cristóbal is his biological father. Julia comforts Cristóbal after the beating he got from Santiago. Meanwhile, Carla introduces Cristóbal to Ruben, who fathered her baby, and Cristóbal supports Ruben taking custody. And Alicia's boyfriend, Felipe, cannot control his jealousy of her friendship with Santiago.

Cristóbal vows to adopt Carla's baby as Carla's promiscuous behavior becomes more perverse. Meanwhile, Matías is hospitalized with kidney failure, but while doctors search for a compatible donor, the truth finally comes out: Matías is Cristóbal's son. Alicia confesses that she falsified an earlier DNA test in an attempt to help Julia and Santiago's marriage. Santiago finds Cristóbal and beats him.

Meanwhile, Matías is attracted to Susana, his therapist, who is also the mother of one of his classmates. Felipe begs Alicia to forgive him for abusing her. Carla tells Cristóbal she is HIV positive—so the baby might be, too.
