Though filming initially started in February 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused production to be placed on hold for over a year and half, with the race resuming in September 2021 with the same remaining teams but with a modified route through COVID-safe countries and with chartered travel.
The second season of The Amazing Race was filmed between January and February 2002, for which they traveled 52,000 miles (84,000 km) miles in 28 days, spanning 8 different countries in 5 continents. The inaugural season of The Amazing Race traveled 35,000 miles (56,000 km) within 39 days, through 4 continents, 9 countries, and 24 different cities. First season to visit the United States, South Africa, Zambia, France, Tunisia, Italy, India, Thailand, and China.
