The eight-part drama series "A Better Place" plays with the idea of what would happen if there were a world without prisons? The series is set in a fictional city in which a revolutionary resocialization experiment is started: the local prison is closed and the prisoners are to be reintegrated into society. This is the decision of the mayor Amir Kaan, who starts the daring experiment with the scientist Petra Schach. Instead of their punishment, the ex-prisoners get work, housing, therapy - and are expected to come to terms with their actions. For some, this is a slap in the face for the victims of crime, for others it is a social utopia.
