In a RUNNING WILD first, Bear takes radio and television personality Bobby Bones back out into the wild, this time with his new fiancé, Caitlin Parker. What better way to set out on the adventure of marriage than a wilderness boot camp with Bear Grylls! Bear tests Bobby and Caitlin's ability to rely upon each other out in the rugged wilderness of the eastern Sierra Nevada, where they track deadly mountain lions, descend off towering sandstone cliffs, hunt for food under ice-covered cascading waterfalls and find out first-hand what the wild can teach us about the resilience of love.
Bear Grylls invites MMA fighter turned actress, Gina Carano, on a journey across the Dolomite mountains of Italy. Gina is tested from the outset as the two are lowered onto a mountain peak to begin their epic journey. Intensity grows as they navigate the jagged peaks and are forced onto a ledge to retrieve a barrel 200 feet in the air. But when they face the biggest rappel in show history, Carano walks to the edge of completely shutting down.
Bear Grylls takes LA icon and living legend Danny Trejo out into the staggering peaks and steep canyons of Arches National Park in Utah. Under scorching temperatures, Bear and Danny climb massive boulders and traverse sheer cliffs in order to reach their extraction. Even Danny's days in prison can't prepare the show's oldest competitor as he squares off against the intense heat and treacherous obstacles of Mother Nature herself.
As if right out of a science fiction movie, Bear Grylls swoops in on a jetpack to pick up funnyman Keegan-Michael Key, kicking off their adrenaline-pumping adventure in the lava fields of Iceland. The "Key & Peele" star must put all jokes aside to face some of his greatest fears and conquer the lunar landscape. From a perilous rappel off a sheer 200-foot cliff to an endurance-testing jumar climb, Keegan-Michael is pushed beyond mental and physical limits in a truly life-changing experience.
Bear Grylls inspires Rainn Wilson to work for it by having him search for hidden caches in the aspen forest and alpine terrain of the La Sal mountains in a time-tested method of mountaineering training. Bear pushes Rainn to the limits of his endurance with dangerous rappels and dizzying climbs, but it's not until they fish for food that things take a revealing turn in what is definitely the most naked RUNNING WILD in the history of the show!
Bear Grylls takes champion racer Danica Patrick out into the Moab desert for some high-octane, pulse-pounding action in the wild. Together they face off against venomous creatures, sheer cliffs and scorching heat as they make their way across some of the harshest terrain around. Still, nothing is more intimidating than the final challenge that leaves even Danica Patrick unnerved.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Terry Crews joins Bear Grylls on an epic journey across Iceland's treacherous terrain. Their adventure begins with a heli-ski ride into the mountains, where they must descend a volcanic scree slope without setting off a deadly rock avalanche. Survival is the name of the game for this NFL linebacker turned actor—from trying to cross freezing, violent floodwaters without drowning to finding warm shelter to avoid hypothermia—but nothing can prepare Terry for being tossed out of a plane at 12,000 feet!
Bear takes Marvel superstar Anthony Mackie to the highest peaks of the Italian Dolomite mountains for an adventure he'll never forget. Braving freezing conditions, they travel in the footsteps of World War 1 soldiers, conquer sheer cliffs and hunt snow rats. Along the way, Anthony opens up about his career, the passing of his dad and the pressures of being a father in his own right. But being a bona fide superhero doesn't prepare Anthony for their final ascent up an icy waterfall, where even the smallest slip could lead to disaster.
On Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, Bear Grylls is taking it up a level by teaching his celebrity guests essential survival skills that they'll have to master and then prove they can use in a high-stress situation. With more daring, epic challenges that span from the snowy peaks of the Canadian Rockies to the deserts of the Great Basin to the volcanic rainforests of Costa Rica, are Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Anthony Anderson, and Rob Riggle up for "The Challenge"?
