May 17th 1977 is election day. The whole country is waiting for results, and in one particular home in the small town Or Yehuda, one family also waits for their younger daughter's fiancé. His name is Avner. He is a grocery store owner, and he will come today to meet the family and ask for Shuly's hand. The whole family is excited- Gina, the mother, the neighborhood's hairdresser, Nisso, Shuly's older brother who takes care of the family since the death of the father, and other aunts, uncles and cousins. Mazal, Shuly's older and divorced sister, who just moved back to her parents house with her son Zohar, is also waiting, after spending the whole day, cooking and cleaning for the guest. But then, somebody else appears, claims to be Shuly's fiancé, but is actually interested in Mazal. Mazal, on the first election day of her adult life, has to choose between family and love, and between passion and reason.
