Anatole is an imaginative, inventive, rebellious little guy. And when the schemes he puts in place turn against him and he catches himself in his own nets, there remains a beautiful loser, a magnificent loser. It is in his glorious defeats that he wins the friendship and respect of others, especially young viewers.
