The King of Baghdad, Shaharyar after being deceived by his wife had decided to marry a girl every day and kill her the very next day. He was angry and he wanted to kill every female alive. His minister's daughter, Shaharzad decided to marry him first in order to save other female's and to trick him with a bunch of stories. She convinced him to listen to her stories which were of Alif-Laila.
