Zhanna Arkadyevna's father comes to the Shatalins' with tickets to a Nikolai Baskov concert. Zhanna does her best to pretend she doesn't want to go, and then Zhanna's father, Arkady, invites Vika. Victoria is delighted, but, knowing that Zhanna actually really wants to go, she insists that Zhanna go to the concert.

Maxim suggests that Victoria become the director of the play at Ksyusha's school. But when it comes down to it, he can't resist the professional temptation and starts staging the play himself. Because of his стремление to achieve "Broadway perfection," Maxim literally drives Ksyusha to despair. She only calms down when Maxim assures her that he loves her no matter what.
