While on tour in Amsterdam, Gene and Shannon spend some quality time with a young fan writing a school report on Gene. Things take a very emotional turn when the subject matter turns from music to his mother and her experiences as a holocaust survivor. After a soul baring tour of Anne Frank's home, Gene and Shannon meet the boy's family, which share a common history with Gene's mom.

Gene and Shannon get invited to the premiere of the new Cirque du Soleil show "Viva Elvis" in Las Vegas the same weekend Nick is going to celebrate his 21st Birthday with his friends. When Nick's Birthday plans fall apart, Shannon comes to the rescue and takes Nick out on the town for a celebration he'll never forget. Meanwhile, back in Los Angeles, Sophie is in charge of picking up Nick's Birthday present and making sure it gets home safe and sound.
