The No. 8 Buckeyes burst into their CFP semifinal against the No. 5 Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl. Ohio State routed No. 1 Oregon 41-21 in the quarters. Texas coughed up a 16-point lead before surviving No. 4 Arizona State 39-31 in double overtime.

The winners of these 2 bowl games will meet in the 2015-2016 Championship final game on 11 January 2016 to determine a new National Champion.
