Simon is called before the Ethical Standards Department to answer charges on the serious injury of Sergio Mendez. Simon beats the charge eventually but his past comes back to haunt him when Harvey Pullman, a previous suspect, identifies Simon as the man who threatened him and he is subsequently suspended by DSS Blake.

The team investigate the rape and murder of a female executive but find their hands tied when they identify a suspect, Daniel Worthington, but who is due to leave Australia to take up an executive post in Kuwait in 48 hours. With time running out and all attempts failing in trying to catch him out Claudia puts herself in Worthington's path to bait him with near drastic consequences. Meanwhile, Bernice is promoted to Commander of Crime Division.
