Hubert and Girwidz are on patrol. While Girwidz lectures about the highlights of his recent vacation in Egypt, Hubert is slowed down by a tractor. His attention is drawn to a hiking boot lying in the middle of the road.
Hubert and Girwidz are actually only supposed to make sure that a construction worker observes the midday break and puts down his jackhammer. But then Girwidz stumbles across a finger encased in concrete.
Pathologist Dr. Fuchs had a wild time at a beach party thrown by the volunteer fire department. The next morning, however, the pathologist is in for a rude awakening: she finds the body of firefighter Markus Moser buried in the sand.
A perpetrator confesses at the police station—for Hubert, this behavior is suspicious in itself. Musician Siggi Prechtl claims that he pushed his twin brother Paul into Lake Starnberg, causing him to drown.
The police are hot on the heels of a cunning gang of burglars who have been stealing valuable paintings from Wolfratshausen's high society for some time now, without leaving any traces behind. This makes the case almost impossible for Hubert and Girwidz to solve.
