Houston's old friend, Novelli (John Aprea), who is now an ex-cop, has been framed for a drug theft and a murder. 

The man (John P. Ryan) who kidnapped and terrorized Houston (Lee Horsley) as a boy resurfaces after 20 years, and Houston's only lead is the man's accomplice, who is in a mental hospital.

A Marilyn Monroe look-alike is scared of her patron, a deadly mobster intent on having her to himself. Matt comes to her aid. 

Matt leaves for Texas to help Sharon, an old and dear friend who is at her wit's end. Sharon thinks somebody's trying to kill her and she has no idea why anyone would want to kill her. Houston's old adversary, Elgin Cody, lures the detective to Texas. There he wants to kill him and replace him with a doppelganger. The reason: Houston owns a property that Cody also suspects contains oil.
