Offenburg, late 40s. Anna Burda is married to the printer and publisher Franz Burda, whose business is rapidly growing during the reconstruction after World War II. But the well-mannered life of a publisher's wife is not enough for Anna. She dreams of creating a style-making fashion magazine for the German society recovering from the war wounds.
