Paladin rides after an outlaw, Manfred Holt, who only wants to see his wife and newborn son one time before the law strings him up.

Paladin comes to the aid of a mission Indian, Joseph Whitehorse, who the locals believe has diseased cattle. But the gunfighter soon switches sides and sells his services to the locals to drive Joseph off of his land.
