2025 was Emmerdale's 54th year. Production was overseen by producers Sophie Roper and Laura Shaw until March, with Shaw becoming the sole producer thereafter. Iain MacLeod continued as executive producer.

Major storylines included John Sugden's saviour complex, April Windsor and Dylan Penders being exploited by drug dealers Celia Daniels and Ray Walters, Charity Dingle agreeing to be a surrogate for Sarah Sugden and Jacob Gallagher only for the baby to turn out to be her own as the result of a one night stand with Ross Barton, Ruby Miligan murdering her rapist father Anthony Fox and the Dingle family helping her cover it up, Joe Tate's quest for a kidney transplant leading to the limo crash that caused the deaths of Leyla Harding, Amy Barton and Suzy Merton, the affair between Joe and Dawn Fletcher and the whodunnit attack on Joe, the return of Robert Sugden and the arrival of his crazed prison husband Kev Townsend, who was later revealed to be the father of Ross Barton's long lost brother Lewis, Vinny Dingle coming to terms with his sexuality and the disappearance of Bear Wolf and the reveal that he was being held as a slave by Celia and Ray.

2024 was Emmerdale's 53rd year. Production was overseen by producer Laura Shaw for the entire year, along with Kate Brooks until July and Sophie Roper from July.

Major storylines included Tom King's abuse of his wife Belle, Moira Dingle undergoing surgery after developing a brain tumour, Angelica King causing the death of Heath Hope whilst joyriding with him and his sister Cathy, the arrival of Caleb Miligan's estranged wife Ruby Fox-Miligan, Ruby and Rose Jackson's failed plot to take down Kim Tate, Evan Fletcher suffering from leukaemia at just four-months-old, the reveal that Ella Forster was living under a new identity after being released from prison for killing her best friend as a child, Charity Dingle developing PTSD after killing Damon Harris in self-defence which led to her stabbing her husband Mackenzie Boyd, Chas Dingle having a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer, the arrival of Victoria Sugden's long-lost brother John and his subsequent relationship with Aaron Dingle, Samson Dingle being sent to prison for wrongfully accusing Matty Barton of stabbing him, the arrival of Caleb and Ruby's estranged daughter Steph Miligan and Ruby's estranged father Anthony Fox who had sexually abused her as a child, the returns of Ross Barton and Joe Tate, both after six years away and April Windsor running away from home after Ross revealed the truth to her about her mother's death.

Major storylines included Caleb and Nicky Miligan's failed revenge plot against Kim Tate, the love triangle between Mackenzie Boyd, Charity Dingle and Chloe Harris, Lydia Dingle being raped by Craig Reed and his subsequent death, Paddy Dingle's suicide attempt, Rhona Goskirk's frozen embryos being stolen by her ex-husband Gus Malcolms and used to make a baby, Jai Sharma learning that Rishi Sharma was not his biological father and the fallout from Rishi's death on Jai and Laurel Thomas's wedding day, Arthur Thomas's relationship with Marshall Hamston, whose homophobic father's descent into madness caused him to kidnap Arthur's mother Laurel, Dan Spencer's exit after he was imprisoned for killing his daughter Amelia's stalker with one punch, Jacob Gallagher's relationship with Victoria Sugden leading to David Metcalfe's exit, Wendy Posner's affair with Liam Cavanagh, Tracy Robinson's affair with Caleb Miligan, the arrival of Charles Anderson's mother Claudette and father Victor, who died shortly after his arrival in the village, Gail Loman acting as a donor for her and Ryan Stocks's ill son Oscar Grisham, who they had given up for adoption as a baby, and Bernice Blackstock and Bob Hope buying the B&B.

2022 was Emmerdale's 51st year. Production was overseen by producers Kate Brooks and Laura Shaw and executive producer Jane Hudson.

Major storylines included Faith Dingle's terminal cancer and her decision to end her life, Chas Dingle's affair with Al Chapman, Cain Dingle taking the blame for his son Kyle Winchester shooting Al dead, Marlon Dingle's stroke, Leyla Cavanagh becoming addicted to cocaine, Nicola King being brutally attacked by a group of girls, Meena Jutla being sentenced to life imprisonment for her murders, Amelia Spencer giving birth to Samson Dingle's baby and Samson's refusal to be involved, Noah Dingle being sent to prison for stalking Chloe Harris, Mackenzie Boyd cheating on Charity Dingle with Chloe and her subsequent pregnancy, the 50th anniversary storm in October that caused the deaths of Harriet Finch and Liv Dingle, the arrival of Cain and Chas' secret brother Caleb Miligan and Arthur Thomas coming out as gay.

Major storylines included psychopath Meena Jutla's murdering spree that ended the lives of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker, Paul Ashdale's death in an explosion caused by Jimmy King and the fallout of his abuse of his son Vinny Dingle, Gabby Thomas falling pregnant with Jamie Tate's baby, Jamie poisoning his mother Kim in a whodunnit plot, Al Chapman's plan to sabotage The Woolpack in order to turn it into a block of flats, Jimmy and Nicola King's battle with Juliette Holliday over the custody of their son Carl, Liv Flaherty's alcoholism, the disastrous survival challenge in October, Sarah Sugden getting to know the sister of her heart donor and Tracy Metcalfe suffering from postnatal depression.

Major storylines included the whodunnit murder of Graham Foster and subsequent wrongful imprisonment of Marlon Dingle, Vanessa Woodfield being kidnapped by Pierce Harris and her diagnosis of bowel cancer, Dawn Taylor, Will Taylor and Harriet Finch being terrorised by bent copper Mark Malone and their cover-up of his murder, Jamie Tate running over Moira Dingle and framing Belle Dingle and Nate Robinson, the return of Moira's long-lost brother Mackenzie Boyd and Vinny Dingle's father Paul Ashdale's gambling addiction and abuse of his son.

Major storylines included Maya Stepney's grooming of Jacob Gallagher, Kim Tate's release from prison and the introduction of her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Moira Dingle's affair with husband Cain's secret son Nate Robinson, Victoria Barton's rape and consequent pregnancy, Robert Sugden's revenge against Victoria's rapist and his departure, the death of Lisa Dingle, Paddy Kirk discovering his real father, the breakup of Marlon and Jessie Dingle's marriage, the fire at the factory caused by Kerry and Amy Wyatt which killed Frank Clayton, and Harriet Finch's stalker who turned out to be her ex Will Taylor.

2009 was Emmerdale's 38th year. At the start of the year the producer Anita Turner and executive producer Keith Richardson  were both still in charge of the programme, though Gavin Blyth and Steve Frost took over each respective roles from March onwards.

Major storylines included Debbie Dingle and Jasmine Thomas being sent to prison for their parts in Shane Doyle's death, Sally Spode's stalking of Ashley Thomas, Jack Sugden's offscreen death in Spain, the returns of Cain Dingle and Charity Tate and the arrival of three new families - the Wyldes, the Bartons and the Sharmas.

2008 was Emmerdale's 37th year. Production was overseen by Kathleen Beedles until March when she handed her duties to Anita Turner.

Major storylines included Daniel Thomas' cot death and Laurel and Ashley Thomas discovering that he wasn't their child and had been swapped at birth, Viv Hope being framed and imprisoned for fraud, Jo Sugden's domestic abuse, Nicola De Souza repeatedly attempting to kill her husband Donald, Genesis Walker arriving to meet her family, the Dingles, and Jasmine Thomas killing Shane Doyle and being helped by Debbie Dingle to cover it up.

1991 was Emmerdale's 20th year. Production was largely overseen by Stuart Doughty until he was replaced by Morag Bain late in the year.

104 episodes were broadcast during the year. Storylines included the departure of Amos Brearly, Alan Turner taking over as the Woolpack landlord, the birth of Alice Bates, the death of Henry Wilks, the wedding of Chris Tate and Kathy Merrick and Jim Latimer's release from prison and subsequent kidnapping Sarah Connolly.

Storylines included David Hughes' attempts to split up Kate and Joe Sugden, Elsa Feldmann falling pregnant by boyfriend Nick Bates, Pete Whiteley's hit and run death, the beginnings of Chris Tate and Kathy Merrick's relationship and Amos Brearly's stroke.

Major storylines included the mysterious arrival and six months later, the equally mysterious disappearance of Dryden Hogben, Joe Sugden's doomed marriage to Milk Marketing Board worker Christine Sharp, Alison Gibbons finding herself being the subject of Henry Wilks and Matt Skilbeck's affections, Ethel Ainsworth's unwelcome advances on Amos Brearly and the further developments of The Woolpack Hotel following the partnership formation between Henry Wilks and Amos Brearly.

1973 was Emmerdale Farm's 2nd year of production and first full year on air. Production was overseen by executive producer Peter Holmans and producer David Goddard, later replaced by producer Robert D. Cardona.

103 episodes were broadcast during the year. Major storylines included the programme's first murder, wedding and birth as the pace of the programme began to increase. Local teenager Sharon Crossthwaite (an early appearance from award-winning actress and director Louise Jameson) suffered at the hands of the unhinged Jim Latimer in a murder which rocked the village at the start of the year. New couple Frank Blakey and Janie Harker married in March and Peggy Skilbeck gave birth to twins in April, marking the first birth and marriage in the programme. Things would take a devastating turn, however, when Peggy collapsed and died of a brain haemorrhage in July, leaving Matt a single father. Other storylines included Jack Sugden getting a new companion in tramp Trash and Joe Sugden finding romance with Trash's daughter, Penny Golightly. The wheels were set in motion for partnership between Henry Wilks and Amos Brearly at The Woolpack as Henry covered for Amos following his brother's death in October and shoplifting shopkeeper Alison Gibbons arrived in the village from Liverpool and took over the Beckindale Shop in the summer with Henry Wilks showing great interest in marrying her.

1972-10-16

1972 was Emmerdale Farm's 1st year. Creator Kevin Laffan based the idea of the show on a real Yorkshire village called Ammerdale. Production was overseen by executive producer Peter Holmans and producer David Goddard.

20 episodes were broadcast during the year. Major storylines included the funeral of Jacob Sugden and the return of his son Jack who took over the titular Emmerdale Farm, Henry Wilks buying the adjoining property of Emmerdale Farm - Inglebrook House sparking a feud between him and the Sugdens, Peggy Skilbeck discovering she's pregnant with her husband Matt's twin children and Jack's affair with Marian Wilks.
