When a nervous Darrin has to speak Spanish before a meeting in Mexico City, Endora casts a spell that makes him disappear whenever he speaks Spanish.
Samantha, Endora, Tabitha and their warlock cousin Henry spend a day in a department store. Henry is offended by a salesman, and he turns the salesman into a mannequin and refuses to change him back. Samantha and Endora try everything, but Tabitha remembers the spell and restores the salesman.
Endora and Maurice get into an argument about Maurice's new secretary and Endora makes him jealous by going out with a warlock who good in speaking Shakespeare. Then Maurice and the warlock duke it out with soliloquies and Maurice wins out. Then Samantha announces that she is to have another baby!
Maurice gives Darrin a magic lighter with a perpetual calendar. Maurice says that he enchanted the lighter and it will allow Darrin to have powers of witchcraft whenever he wants, which Darrin doesn't accept. Maurice turns Darrin into a donkey because of his ingratitude.
Note: Dick York appears briefly in this episode. He collapsed on the set during filming and was rushed to a hospital, where it was decided he would leave the show.
Samantha gets through to a greedy miser Mr. Haskell when he doesn't contribute to the UNICEF fund. Samantha and Endora mess up Haskell's love life when they hex Lila to admit that she is in an affair with another man!
Refusing to obey the Witches' Council and give up Darrin, Samantha loses her magical powers.
Note: The opening scene in the Stephens' bedroom is recycled footage from the Season 3 episode "The Trial and Error of Aunt Clara". Dick York does not appear except in this reused footage.
Darrin is invited to join the Burning Oak Country Club, a very exclusive club. To get the right attitude, Endora changes him into a snob of all snobs.
Phyllis wants Tabitha to spend a weekend with her and Frank, but doesn't count on Samantha and Endora to be there also. They all start fighting and arguing until Tabitha turns herself into a cookie. Samantha convinces her daughter that she is not the cause of all of their arguments and wants her to turn back into a human.
A chimpanzee follows Samantha and Tabitha home from the park. The chimp witnessed Sam perform some magic. Because the chimp is well behaved and has clothes on, Sam believes he belongs to someone. Sam turns the chimp into a human so she can find out where he lives. The chimp refuses to divulge who his owner is or where the little boy lives. He wants to stay a human.
Serena wants to try mortal men and gets a date with Franklyn Blodgett through a computer dating service. What Serena does not know is that Franklyn is actually a warlock.
Serena comes by to babysit Tabitha. Darrin's mother Phyllis stops by and thinks Serena is Sam with her hair dyed. After learning who Serena is, Phyllis starts making comments about Endora and Uncle Arthur. Serena does not mind that so much, but when Phyllis calls Sam selfish with the way she treats Tabitha, Serena turns her into a cat.
When Samantha decides to take up sculpting, Endora zaps up two talking busts of Darrin and Larry Tate.
Samantha has contracted a virus that has her talking in rhyme ..all the time.
Worrying that her daughter is deprived, Endora conjures up a little toy that enchants any human who sees it and is guaranteed to make Darrin and his partners very wealthy.
The minute Clio (as a monkey) escapes, Serena comes back. The Stephens and Serena find Clio in the hands of a little boy, an organ grinder, and the police! Serena changes Clio back and Samantha comes up with a stellar idea for the Clio Vanita wine account when Larry meets the organ grinder who kept Clio company as a monkey.
Darrin's sexy Italian client tries to seduce him; Serena turns her into a monkey.
Darrin's mother suggests Samantha get a maid hoping the extra time will allow Samantha to make social connections which will help Darrin's career.
Darrin is turned into the nicest person in the world by Endora and gets a tough client named Mrs. Sebastian to sign with McMann and Tate. When Mrs. Sebastian suspects that something is up, she then takes back her account, but Samantha changes her mind and she accepts Darrin.
Samantha calls Doctor Bombay to treat her sick willow tree. She get caught in the spell and begins weeping every time the wind blows. Reversing the spell causes her to laugh uncontrollably until she is cured.
Tabitha goes to pre-school for the first time and meets Amy, a classmate. When the teacher groups the children in animal groups, Amy gets chosen to be a toad in the toad group, but she wants to be in a butterfly group. Tabitha misunderstands her request and actually turns her into a butterfly! Samantha, who has been watching the whole thing through the window, chases Amy the butterfly all around the city and catches her so Tabitha can change her back.
As a joke Uncle Arthur switches Sam and Darrin's voices and can't seem to switch them back. Unfortunately Louise Tate is visiting due to a fight with Larry.
Sam fights city hall to save a park that is also owned by one of Darrin's clients.
Note: Due to Erin Murphy having the mumps, her fraternal twin sister Diane Murphy, who had stopped being used for the role the previous season, fills in as Tabitha.
On a lark but also on the urging of her mother-in-law, Samantha enters a slogan contest, the first prize which is a trip for two to Tahiti. A surprised Samantha wins the contest. What she is unaware of is that the company for which she submitted the winning slogan is a client of Darrin's.
When trying to conjure up a dessert of the same name, Uncle Arthur produces the real Napoleon Bonaparte.
Moving into middle age, Darrin begins to notice those human physical imperfections in himself associated with aging. Despite Samantha's assertions that Darrin isn't vain, Endora believes otherwise. As such, she, without Samantha or Darrin's knowledge, places a spell on him to make him vain, more specifically in a youthful manner.
While Samantha secretly attends a Witches Council meeting, Serena substitutes for Samantha and Darrin takes her off to a second honeymoon.
Once upon a time, Endora made a deal with another witch Carlotta that Samantha will marry her son Juke, but Samantha hasn't lived up to her part of the deal. Now Carlotta and Juke are back and Carlotta will stop at nothing to give Juke what he wants. She makes Darrin disappear and never brings him back until Samantha agrees to marry Juke.
Endora gets Tabitha to play beautifully on the piano, and Darrin dares Samantha to learn how to play the mortal way. The Piano teacher hears Tabitha play and invites a famous conducter to see her play. Without magic, Tabitha does a poor job and the conductor is stunned. Samantha then finds a real prodigy for the conductor, and wins the bet with Darrin.
Because of Serena's foolishness, Samantha is sent back in time by a jelaous witch named Brunhilda, who happened to be Serena's boyfriend's wife. In 1868 New Orleans, Samantha is taken in by a maid named Aunt Jenny, and her owner, Rance Butler, falls for her. Now it is up to Darrin to get her back from the Southern gentleman.
Endora gives Samantha a wedding present on their fifth anniversary much to Darrin's annoyance. Endora calls him a small, small man and Darrin begins to shrink.
