A young interpreter is confronted with the shocking truth of the Shoah during her work during the first Auschwitz trial in Frankfurt in 1963. She tirelessly discovers what was repressed during the German economic miracle and hidden under the "German comfort" of that time: crimes, suffering, guilt mingle between her own family's history and German history.
