This series sees Sir Lenny Henry, Chris McCausland, James May and Chris Packham don their walking boots as they accompany Alexander in the great outdoors to amble from one lovely pub to the next in Yorkshire, Kent, Monmouthshire and Shropshire. Along the way, they take in the landscapes, nature and history, as well as sharing wide-ranging, funny and sometimes very personal conversations.
Comedian Chris McCausland joins Alexander on three monumental Monmouthshire pub walks through the Wye Valley where they explore castles and ruins, picnic like a Georgian gentleman and climb a holy mountain. As they make their way from pub to pub, Chris tells Xander his remarkable life story and shares emotional insights into his private life, as he discusses his blindness, his family, his career and the other people's expectations of him.
Lenny Henry joins Alexander Armstrong in the Shropshire countryside, and they learn about ideas born in this quiet, green corner of England that have repeatedly changed the world. They hunt for fossils, make their own works of art, and have a sing-song, as Lenny ponders a possible return to stand-up comedy.
Chris Packham joins Alexander on an excursion in Kent, where they hunt for lost treasure, encounter Spitfires and a boat graveyard, explore battlefields, castles and the rich natural environment, and uncover historical secrets. Chris talks openly about some of his struggles and difficulties, while Alexander speaks movingly about his own experiences with his son's autism.
Comedian and presenter Alexander Armstrong explores some of Britain's best and most spectacular pub walks. In the first episode, he is joined in Yorkshire by James May, who discusses memories from his childhood, getting repeatedly fired from jobs, his eventful Top Gear days and, under a tree in the grounds of Bolton Abbey, opens up about ageing and retirement.

Perfect Pub Walks sees comedian, musician and nature-lover Bill Bailey set out on some of the best and most spectacular pub walks the country has to offer, taking in the Peak District, Somerset, Dorset, Essex and Suffolk.
In each of the four episodes Bill is accompanied by a different guest - Alan Davies, Sir Trevor McDonald, Paul Merton and legendary Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder - and together they share wide-ranging, funny and sometimes very personal conversations, on their way to a variety of historic pubs.
Covering everything from nature and history to music, food and art, their talks will also delve into memories, challenges and difficult life experiences, broaching subjects that men are sometimes reluctant to open up about.
