The murder of two Civil Guard officers in Castejón, Navarre, in 2004, is the starting point for one of the most emblematic police investigations in Spanish crime history. The bullets recovered at the crime scene point to a robber who has been looting banks with impunity for ten years. He is a mysterious figure who hides behind a disguise; they call him "The Loner." His capture will become an obsession for the Civil Guard and the National Police. A police thriller with numerous plot twists in which the tension never lets up.
The Civil Guard and the National Police are still on the trail of the most wanted robber in recent times. For 14 years, nothing and no one has been able to catch him, but now they have his name and are preparing a plan to capture him. In his latest robberies, he has changed his appearance, uses a crutch, and is even more violent. The investigation is leading them to Portugal. They need to catch him in the act.
The Civil Guard links "El Solitario" to some thirty robberies committed since 1993 throughout Spain. He acts alone, in just two minutes, disguised, armed, and leaves no fingerprints or trace. Investigators continue their relentless search, but he hasn't committed any robberies in some time. The National Police have joined the Civil Guard's investigation.
In June 2004, two traffic officers in the Civil Guard stopped a driver in a Suzuki in Castejón, Navarre, and were gunned down. The perpetrator vanished without a trace. A race against time began to find him. The bullets from the submachine gun would prove crucial in linking the killer to a bank robber known as ‘El Solitario' (The Loner).
