The day after her aquarium date with Aki, Nao is invited by her classmate Sato to eat lunch together, marking her first time having lunch with a group of girls. Later, in the library where she goes with Sato, Nao spots Ritsuko walking along with a troubled expression on her face—

The curtain rises, and the play of "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter: A New Translation," for which Ritsuko wrote the script, begins. It proceeds as practiced, but towards the end, as they reach the scene where Princess Kaguya and the old women say goodbye, Nao notices Suzumi's feelings about the story and asks her a serious question that is not in the script.
