The kids host a Food Festival where they cook and perform a live demo of their signature dish for a hungry crowd. The festival goers weigh in via comment cards, but the final decision rests with Chef Curtis Stone.
Rachael and Guy invite Chef Robert Irvine into the kitchen to mentor the kids in the Mini Challenge. After working as a team to unscramble a jumbled recipe, each kid chef will execute their dish while Robert coaches them on.
After tasting dishes their parents may have had as kids, the Mini Chefs choose one retro dish to modernize. In the Main Challenge, the kids create a classic Southern barbecue using ingredients that the other team picks for them.
In the Mini Challenge, the kids can make whatever they want as long as the featured ingredient is the one they hate the most. In the Main Challenge, the Mini Chefs must use a sandwich as inspiration for a multi-component entree.
In the Mini Challenge, the kids must decipher ingredients while blindfolded. Then, it's a Chopped-style Main Challenge, where a video message from Ted Allen introduces their head-to-head Mystery Basket challenge.
