Martin organises a fundraising dance. Paul innocently lends a helping hand and in doing so mercilessly interferes with Martin's arrangements. How will Martin retaliate?
It's time for members of the Close to go on a holiday outing. Some wish to repeat an earlier trip to the Bavarian Alps, but Paul has something altogether different in mind.
Martin and certain others in the Close are nearly scandalised by Paul's outlandish behaviour, burning perfectly good house signs and entertaining scantily clad women in his back garden.
Paul takes over the residents' association meeting and Martin is relieved of his chairmanship. A renewed social life beckons, but their new found freedom is short lived as Martin finds himself being used.
Martin is a pillar of the community, an avid chairman of every club committee going, who sees himself very much as lord of his manor. But the equilibrium of his world is disrupted when a suave new next-door neighbour moves in.
