Barcelona, May 23rd 1981. Exactly three months have passed since the attempted coup d'état at the Congress of Deputies when eleven hooded men entered the headquarters of the Central Bank in Barcelona. What starts as a spectacular robbery soon becomes a real challenge to Spain's recent democracy. The robbers hold more than 200 hostages in the bank and threaten to kill them if the government does not agree to free Colonel Tejero and three others in charge of the 23F.
The siege reaches a tense climax. As the government releases an official version of events, Maider fights to uncover the full truth, no matter the cost.
As tensions reach boiling point inside the bank, Number 1's past comes to the fore. After raiding a suspect's home, Paco gives Maider a valuable tip.
Isabel takes a risk and publishes Maider's hypothesis. Following a new lead, the police make headway and the Civil Guard presses for armed intervention.
Maider defies Isabel's orders and butts heads with Berni. Number 1's plan hits a wall as conflicting theories about the attackers' identities emerge.
Three months after a failed coup d'état, armed men storm Barcelona's Central Bank, taking hundreds hostage. A young journalist is the first on the scene.
